St Petersburg Pier - St Petersburg, FL

The St. Pete Pier has been a longstanding landmark to the city of St. Petersburg, Florida. The first pier was built in 1889, follow by about a dozen more in different decades and locations. First used to connect merchandise and goods between the shore and freighter ships, but later as tourism flourished, morphed into a different role providing a trendy location for sunbathing, swimming, fishing, boating, dances and public gatherings. Today the Tampa Bay citizens (and the millions of tourists that flock there), enjoy a newly reimagined pier destination with unique spaces, activities, restaurants, parks, playgrounds and spectacular views of the bay - to name a few.

After demolition of the former Inverted Pyramid Pier and the surrounding approach, groundbreaking for St. Pete Pier started in early 2017, and the 26-acre development was opened to the public in July 2020. The city of St. Petersburg owns the facility, and the city council approved the plans submitted by building design architect Rogers Partners. The landscape & public spaces architect was Ken Smith Workshop, and the lighting designs were handled by Renfro Design Group.

A total of 259 Solid State Luminaires CVLWET 1.5 and ECVLXWET 1.5 luminaires were used in one and four foot lengths with 3000 Kelvin lumen output. SESCO Lighting was the sales representative involved (Bob Coffman in the Tampa office), and Graybar was the distributor.
