Thysse Corporate Headquarters - Oregon, Wisconsin
Thysse is a family-owned printing and marketing services company. Founded in 1941 as a small print shop, it has grown and expanded into a wide range of services such as commercial printing, direct mail, packaging, and graphic design. Having undergone several building and service expansions over the years, in 2020 the business consolidated to a new, 95,000 square foot state-of-the-art headquarters located in Oregon, Wisconsin.
The Thysse Campus utilized tilt-up concrete construction for much of the facility, open end panels are infilled with glass to enhance views and optimize daylight. The glass is surrounded with orange metal (illuminated at night, creating a dramatic effect) that accentuates the company’s brand identity. On the south side where the building faces the watery marsh, angled inset space provides shaded outdoor patio areas on the first and second levels. Expansive open interior spaces were included to encourage collaboration between employees, as well as enhance comfort, productivity, and overall experience.
With a core focus on brand identity, Ryan Frank at OPN Architects designed the new corporate headquarters to visually communicate the passion of the Thysee brand. The project was awarded First Place in the Corporate (over 25,000 square foot) category by the International Interior Design Association’s Wisconsin chapter. The contractor was Feiner Electric located in Sun Prairie, WI. Several SSL luminaire products were utilized throughout the building, such as Exterior Cove, Interior Cylinders, as well as Exterior Cylinders from FC Lighting. The sales representative for this project was Enterprise Lighting & Controls.
